Quick start

Deploy from the Azure Marketplace (Get It Now → Create), choosing your SSH key at the Administration step.
Allow inbound SSH (22) for yourself plus the application port(s): 8428 — to your collectors and dashboards only — restrict to your own IP where possible. The in-image firewall already allows them; only the Network Security Group (NSG) keeps them closed.
Open http://<VM-IP>:8428/vmui/ with the generated Basic Auth credentials (see First login below).
Add VictoriaMetrics as a Prometheus data source in Grafana (URL http://<VM-IP>:8428 with Basic Auth).

Get your admin password (one time)

ssh <your-username>@<VM-IP>
sudo cat /root/victoriametrics-admin-credentials.txt

Basic Auth as vmadmin with the generated password, on every endpoint except /health and /ping. Rotate the password (last step above) and put TLS in front before real use.
